Chelsea have received a potential boost ahead of their upcoming clash against Liverpool, as confirmed head coach Mauricio Pochettino.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Pochettino hinted that Christopher Nkunku, Malo Gusto, and Nicolas Jackson could all make their return for the Premier League game.
“It’s good news that I think Malo Gusto and Christoph [Nkunku] can be involved in the squad for tomorrow. They will travel with us and the team, that is the good news.”
He also hinted at the possibility of Nicolas Jackson’s return after his absence due to the Africa Cup of Nations, saying, “Then, maybe or not, Nico can arrive for tomorrow and also be involved in the game. But that is if he can arrive in time from the tournament.”
However, the news isn’t as positive for Levi Colwill who picked up an injury, and Trevoh Chalobah who continues to remain on the sideline.
“Levi is out. He suffered a minor injury in his tendon. He’s getting better and it’s not a big issue but he is going to be out for tomorrow.
“Trevoh is really close, he is doing so well. I think it’s only a matter of time until he is going to be involved again, but he is doing really well,” he added.
The clash between Chelsea and Liverpool comes up on Wednesday night at Anfield, by 9:15 PM, as both clubs hope to improve on their draw in their first meeting at Stamford Bridge earlier this season.
