Media personality Jacque Maribe hinted at securing a job at deputy president Rigathi Gachagua’s office.
Maribe reshared a post by her friend Nzau Ya Musau who had posted on Facebook information indicating that the former Citizen TV anchor had been appointed Director of Communications at Gachagua’s office.
“Breaking: Incoming Director of communications Riggy G’s office Jacque Maribe gathers the courage, extract the commitment of incoming KK CS for propaganda Dennis Itumbi for a walk down the aisle,” Musau wrote.
Responding to Musau’s post, Jacque Maribe wrote; “Mambo tu ya God.”
Jacque Maribe has not been working since July 2019 when she resigned from Citizen TV.
Maribe resigned from Citizen TV shortly after she was implicated in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani.
Maribe’s ex-boyfriend Joseph ‘Jowie’ Irungu was charged with murdering Monica Kimani on the night of September 19/20 2018, while she was charged as charged as an accessory to the murder.
Maribe was arrested and detained at Lang’ata Women Prison for a month before being released on a cash bail of Ksh1 million.
Maribe was moved from her position as a news anchor to an editor after Justice James Wakiaga barred her from reading news or interviewing anybody regarding the murder case during the trial period.
She ultimately resigned from Citizen TV in July 2019 citing ‘personal reasons’. It is believed that her exit from Citizen TV has been influenced by the murder charge.
Maribe started her journalism career at K24 TV in 2009 after graduating from the University of Nairobi.
She later worked as a political affairs reporter at Kiss TV from 2011 to 2012.
She moved to Citizen TV in 2012 under the same title.
