Manchester City dropped points for the second consecutive week as they played out a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
With Rodri sidelined for the rest of the season due to injury, Pep Guardiola opted for a midfield pairing of Mateo Kovacic and Rico Lewis.
However, City struggled to dominate in the middle of the park.
City took the lead in the 35th minute through defender Josko Gvardiol.
But Newcastle fought back, and Anthony Gordon equalized from the penalty spot in the 58th minute after sustained pressure from the home side.
