Manchester City 115 financial charges hearing begins

The long-awaited hearing into Manchester City’s 115 alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations officially began on Monday.

The case, which could have major implications for English football, is expected to last around two months, with a verdict anticipated by the end of the 2024/25 season.

The charges, spanning from 2009 to 2018, accuse City of failing to provide accurate financial disclosures, among other breaches.

Meanwhile, the club has consistently denied any wrongdoing. If found guilty, potential penalties include hefty fines, points deductions, or even relegation from the Premier League.

City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed confidence in the process. “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I look forward to the decision,” he said ahead of the hearing.
