Popular BBNaija star, Doyin David has opened up on the challenging aftermath of her controversial interview that led to a brand terminating her contract and demanding a refund of her endorsement fee.
Speaking on the CreativiTEA podcast with host Lynda, the famous realty star recounted the incident.
According to her, a brand she was representing as an ambassador decided to sever ties with her after she made statements in an interview that did not align with the brand’s image.
In her words,
“There is no bad or good brand. I had a brand that dropped me. They had signed me and paid me the money, but they called and asked for a refund, and it was because of an interview I did. And to be fair to them, I deserved to be dropped because why did I talk?”
Doyin also reflected on her journey on Big Brother Naija, admitting that her portrayal during the ‘Level Up’ edition in 2022 was not authentic to her true personality.
She confessed to projecting a persona that was more mature and peace-loving than her real self, which she described as someone who is not averse to confrontation.
“My first run wasn’t my best run, to be honest. I have been on the show twice, and I came out of the show, and I hated it. I was fake. I came out with the narrative that Doyin is too mature. She is always trying to talk things out; that’s not really me oo. In real life, I fight” Doyin added.
