Grammy award winning singer, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has left many of his fans disappointed following his recently canceled ‘Love Damini’ show scheduled for Saturday night, June 17 at the GelreDome, Arnhem, Netherlands.
Fans of the Music Star reportedly began trooping into the 41,000-capacity-seater stadium excited to be entertained by the “Common Person’ crooner only to be informed hours later that the show had been canceled. Burna apologized to fans via his Instastory. He added that he was anticipating his performance for his Dutch fans but unfortunately, it couldn’t happen due to “a number of reasons.”
Burna Boy continued by saying his “amazing team has been hard at work trying to salvage it but we couldn’t do it in time,” adding that a new date will be announced soon.
The singer’s apology however didn’t diffuse his fans anger as they took to social media to express their disappointment, stating that it is fast becoming a trend which they don’t appreciate.
Recall Burna Boy kept his fans waiting for over 8 hours at his first ever 2023 concert in Lagos state on Sunday, January 1.
Instead of apologizing, the singer insulted his fans, stomped on their heads, amongst other things that angered his audience.
However after a lot of backlash, in a post shared on his Instatories on Monday night January 2, Burna Boy apologized to his fans for how hectic the show was for him and his crew. He also blamed the organizers of the show for the delay.
Also in 2019, the singer had fans waiting for hours at a scheduled show in Canada before releasing a statement saying he was stuck at the airport hence his inability to make the show. See reactions below:
