Things might be a little awkward for the Boston Celtics right now.
The team came close to winning its first NBA Finals in years just last month but now things are decidedly up-in-the-air for one of the most iconic franchises in league history.
And it’s all because of Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets.
Durant has demanded a trade from his team, according to reports, and the Celtics are one of his desired “landing spots.”
But if the Celtics want to land Durant, they’ll have to do a lot, including parting ways with Jaylen Brown.

Brown would be a part of any trade package for Durant, according to the latest rumors.
Marcus Smart might also be included, as well as future first-round draft picks.
Despite the possibility that they could lose him, the Celtics are still celebrating Brown.
They tweeted out a video of the All-Star, commenting on his “faith”, “consistency” and “hard work.”
The team knows they have someone special with Brown, but does that mean he is safe?
The Price Of Durant
This is what happens with a player as powerful and talented as Durant demands a trade.
Nearly every team in the league wants him but few have the sort of assets that Brooklyn will be happy with.
Brown is definitely the sort of player that the Nets will gladly accept in exchange for Durant.
But the team will still need more than just that, hence the rumors of Marcus Smart and draft picks also being part of the equation.
Brooklyn knows they have the upper hand here and they can demand just about anything and anyone they want.
Now the question is if the Celtics will play ball or decide to retain their valuable All-Star.
