JUST IN: Police confirm abduction of two people in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command on Sunday, confirmed the abduction of two people in the Shabewa community of Dukku Local Government Area by criminals.

In a conversation with our correspondent, the state police public relations officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, confirmed this and said that the police would use their collaboration with the neighborhood watch group to ensure their prompt release.

He claims that Oqua Etim, the state’s commissioner of police, has sent agents to make sure that the two captives who haven’t been identified are released safely.

Remember how the command claimed in September that at least 67 people in the state had been reported missing between January and September 2023 in an exclusive interview with The PUNCH

Abubakar said, “We have confirmed the abduction of a male and a female from the Shabewa community of Dukku Local Government Area.

“The Commissioner of Police has deployed an operational team to work alongside the vigilante group to rescue the victims unhurt. They are presently in the bush in chase of the criminals.”
