“I’m a Nigerian from Ewe, we root straight to Yoruba” – Ghanaian artiste, Stonebwoy

The world wrongly thinks Nigeria owns Afrobeats – Ghanaian singer, Stonebwoy

Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage as Stonebwoy, has revealed his ancestry.

The crooner of “Activate” disclosed that he is of Nigerian heritage and that his folks are Yoruba, who are indigenous to the Oyo Kingdom’s Ewe.

Stonebwoy revealed this when discussing his origins with well-known automotive influencer and critic Ola of Lagos.

The artist claims that his ancestors are the first inhabitants of Ijesha, having moved to Ghana from the southern region of Nigeria.

He said; “Me sef nah Niger, no lies. Me nah Ewe from Oyo Kingdom, my tr!be migrated from Nigeria to Ghana here, na we get Illesha. Shout-out to my people in the southern part of Nigeria, check Ewe, we root straight to Yoruba”.
