Hannah Waddingham rocks sneakers on Emmys 2022 red carpet

Ted Lasso would definitely approve of this look.

Hannah Waddingham was ready to run a soccer field — or accept another award — as she revealed a pair of sparkly Dolce and Gabbana sneakers under a pink tulle gown by the Italian fashion brand on the Emmys 2022 red carpet.

Joining E! red carpet host Loni Love — who also wore a crystal-embellished pair of slip-on sneakers on the red carpet — Waddingham showed off her strapless ballerina-style tulle dress with embellishments on the corset-style bust and revealed her shoe choice.

“Do you know what the best thing about things like this is?” she asked, breaking into song to add, “nobody knows that I don’t have heels on underneath.”

The TV star, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton on “Ted Lasso,” is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series for the second year in a row.

The West End theater star then lifted up her skirt to show Love her comfy footwear as they put their feet together in solidarity. “I feel like we’ve got the inside scoop,” Waddingham said.

The Emmy winner said she told the brand, “Please, I don’t want to wear heels, can you do me a little something? And of course, they don’t do anything by halves.”

In addition to her crystal kicks, the actress accessorized with sparkling earrings and wore her blond hair pulled back in an elegant pony.

After taking home the Emmy last year, Waddingham said she was “so relaxed and genuinely just happy to be here,” adding, “it kind of takes the heat off you a bit.”

As for “Ted Lasso” potentially coming to an end, she remained coy when Love asked if Season 3 would be it’s final.

“Next question,” she said. “I don’t know. I actually don’t know. I think … I think that it might be, in terms of the end of a story. But who knows.”
