Ex-Nigerian League coach, Maurice Cooreman dies in Belgium at 79

Maurice Cooreman, a former coach with several Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs, has died at the age of 79.

The Belgian, who had stints with Enyimba, Ikorodu United, Ocean Boys, Warri Wolves, Gombe United in a coaching career that spanned decades, died in his home country in Belgium.

Nigeria’s League Management confirmed the death of the 79-year-old in a post on Twitter, saying: “Our condolences to the family of Maurice Cooreman following his death in his country, Belgium.

“He will always remain a legend in the NPFL having worked with multiple clubs as well as winning the title once with Oceans Boys in 2006.”
