Superstar Afrobeats artist David Adeleke, widely recognized as Davido, has recently expressed his thoughts on social media following remarks made by his industry counterpart, Wizkid, who labeled him as lacking talent.
Wizkid took to the popular microblogging platform X to criticize Davido after the DMW founder chose to release a new song concurrently with the impending launch of Wizkid’s highly anticipated album, Morayo.
On X, Wizkid dismissed Davido’s new project as mediocre, referring to him as “Fogido” and mocking his fan base by calling them “30 Bingos” instead of the usual “30BG.”
This situation sparked backlash from a 30BG supporter, who accused Wizkid of leveraging Davido’s name to promote his own album. In response, Wizkid asserted that he could not use Davido for publicity, claiming that the artist lacks talent.
While Wizkid was engaged in this online dispute, Davido, known for his hit “Unavailable,” took to his verified account on X to address the situation.
In his response, Davido demonstrated that he remains unfazed by the negative comments from his rival, announcing his arrival in New York City for the Puma x Davido collaboration event.
According to Davido, he is winning so big with PUMA, a top fashion brand whose Wizkid used to be their brand ambassador.
Davido tweeted; “Touchdown NYC !! Excited about tonight @puma X Davido New collection Unveiling! 👕👖🧦👟.”
