Chelsea firm on keeping Nkunku despite transfer rumours, per Fabrizio

Chelsea have dismissed speculation about selling France international Christopher Nkunku during the summer transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the club has no intention of parting with the midfielder, despite rumours suggesting otherwise.

Nkunku, 26, endured a challenging debut season in the Premier League, plagued by injuries that saw him miss 39 matches.

A major knee injury sidelined him for 109 days, impacting his ability to make a consistent impact.

“Christopher Nkunku, key part of Chelsea plans for next season and for the future. No chance for an exit, despite reports on bids and more.

“After unlucky first season, club keeps planning with Nkunku as crucial player and he’s determined to do his best for Chelsea,” Romano shared on X.

The football transfer expert also revealed earlier that Nkunku has no plans to leave the West London club.

He said the midfielder is determined to prove his worth and contribute significantly to the club in the upcoming season.

Chelsea acquired Nkunku from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for €60 million.

Despite the setbacks, the French man managed 14 appearances last season, scoring three goals.
