Ajax rejected a €90m offer from United on Friday as they continue to hold out for a club-record fee, with the Red Devils roughly €2m from meeting that threshold.
Antony delivered a bombshell interview later that evening pleading with the Dutch champions to let him leave, and work is continuing behind the scenes to push forward a deal.
90min understands that Antony’s party are trying to persuade former United goalkeeper Van der Sar to push other board members into sanctioning a deal.
