The poignant moment billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote broke down in tears in memory of his late friend and former Access Holdings CEO Herbert Wigwe was caught on camera.
This occurred during the Monday, March 4 Celebration of Professional Excellence honoring the late former Bank CEO who perished on February 9 in a helicopter crash with his wife, Chizoba, and son, Chizzy.
The former bank president was honored for his outstanding accomplishments as a reputable banker on Monday by friends and business acquaintances who gathered at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
The 57-year-old was honored by friends and family, including Aigboje Aig-Imokhuede, Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Femi Adesina, his staff, and a former secondary school classmate.
Dangote in his speech reflected on how Wigwe whom he described as his friend, brother and mentee, was supportive in the building of his businesses.
