Last night, prior to the Field of Dreams Game between the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds, two MLB legends helped kick off the festivities.

Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. and his father Ken Griffey Sr. were the first to come out of the cornfields and walk onto the field.

As they walked onto the field, they recreated the scene from the end of the Field of Dreams film, when Ray Kinsella finally sees his dad, John, and they play a little catch.

“Hey dad, you want to have a catch?” Griffey Jr. asked.

“I’d like that, son,” Griffey Sr. responded.

The two proceeded to play a little catch, hitting everybody in the feels.

Hey Dad, You Want To Have A Catch?

This is a beautiful moment between father and son and goes to show the true pageantry of baseball.

When two legends recreate a scene from the classic film, people are bound to tear up, and that’s what took place last night prior to the game.

Father and son proceeded to play a game of catch on the Field of Dreams.

A baseball career usually starts when somebody is just a kid and goes out into their backyard with their dad to play a little catch.

It was a full circle moment for the Griffey duo, but also a reminder of a classic scene from a classic film, where Ray Kinsella finally meets his father.

Games of catch between a father and a son are sacred, and these two legends got to share a moment together before the big game.

Baseball truly is beautiful.

Our grand old game is full of heartfelt moments, and we got to see yet another one last night.
