Ahmed Yusuf, a police officer who was abducted from his house in Kwara state has regained freedom as confirmed by the State police command.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) was abducted by six armed men in his Oloje, Ilorin house on Tuesday last week.
Confirming that the police officer has regained freedom, Kwara state Police spokesman, Ajayi Okasanmi said ASP Yusuf was rescued in the wee hours of yesterday in a bush bordering Kwara and Oyo states.
He was rescued in an operation carried out by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Monitoring Team attached to the state command, Oyo State Amotekun as well as local hunters.
Okasanmi noted that the state police Commissioner Paul Odama said, “rescuing the kidnapped officer unhurt…is a task that must be achieved”.
