A youth corps member went viral after she decided to use her NYSC allowance to fund projects for a community school in Ibadan.

In a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), she shared her story, explaining how she built several initiatives for the school during her service year.

While many were sharing their own NYSC experiences, she posted photos of her completed work and noted that her original plan to dig a well evolved into a more extensive project.

Even though her friends criticized her for being silly with her allowance, she felt proud of what she accomplished.

Her statement read: “I did 4 personal projects during my NYSC in Ibadan and received a meritorious award 🙈… but my friends think I was foolish to have wasted so much money. After NYSC, I didn’t have 100k to my name for a while, but I’m pleased I did all I did.”

She explained that the principal, students, and local landlords encouraged her to dig the well and build a scaffold. Now, the scaffold is used for storage and as a resource for the community.

Her post received many comments, with people expressing their thoughts and appreciation for her generous actions.
