Federico Pastorello, the agent of Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku, has sent a message to the club’s fans, saying he will soon provide reasons to them amid reports linking his client with a return to Chelsea this summer.
Pastorello said this while breaking his silence amid widespread reports linking Lukaku with Chelsea, Metro UK reports.
He urged Inter Milan supporters to be patient for further details as they will be able to ‘hear our reasons’ in due course.
Recall that Chelsea are close to signing Lukaku after they failed with two separate bids to land the Belgium international.
Lukaku is keen to return to Chelsea, where he feels he has unfinished business and Inter Milan are reportedly prepared to accept a third offer of around €130million (£110million).
Another round of negotiations will take place between Inter and Chelsea with a view to finding a resolution on Friday.
And there is optimism an agreement will be reached between both parties before the transfer deadline.
However, Some Inter Milan fans have been less than impressed throughout the speculation, given their owners, Suning Holdings Group, had vowed that no more ‘big’ sales would be made this summer following Achraf Hakimi’s €60million switch to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.
Other enraged Inter Milan supporters also bombarded the Instagram page of Pastorello, to vent their anger over the last few days, which prompted one fan to issue an apology on Thursday night to Lukaku’s agent.
“I apologize on behalf of Inter fans for the bad words in these comments… everything is fine, but exaggerating in this way seems too much to me.
“But if you can do what you can to keep Lukaku you would make many happy… Otherwise thanks anyway and good luck,”
The message said.
Responding with a short message, which has since been deleted, Pastorello said: “Thank you for these words of yours. You will be able to hear our reasons soon, however, this turns out.”
