United paid £70m (£60m plus £10m in add-ons) for the 30-year-old Brazilian who has won everything there is to win during his time in Spain.
Ahead of the completion of his move to Old Trafford, Real Madrid posted a classy message on their official website when announcing his departure.
The message which appreciated the midfielder for his many years of service at the Santiago Bernabeu read: “Real Madrid would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to Casemiro, who is part of the club’s history.
“In addition to this brilliant list of achievements, Casemiro will always be remembered by the Madridistas as representing the values of our club. An exemplary player who has given his all for Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid is and always will be his home, and we wish him and all his family the best of luck in this new chapter of his life.”
Nonetheless, sources confirm that a farewell press conference has been scheduled for Casemiro on Monday.
