The New York Yankees have been slumping ever since the start of the second half of the season.
After a dominant first half, they’ve gone on a slide in the second half which saw them lose grip on the best record in baseball and the top seed in the American League.
The Yankees still have a commanding lead in the AL East, but the team has lost 10 of its last 12.
As Gerrit Cole said after last night’s loss, the Yankees need a spark.
One Yankees insider points out that the current team is more than capable of providing that spark, but that it may have to come from some of the guys performing well down in Triple-A.

In Need Of A Spark
It might just be time for a slight shakeup in the Bronx.
The Yankees need something to work, and it might be time to bring in some new faces to give this team a lift.
At a certain point, something will need to change.
The Yankees’ current group isn’t performing well at the moment.
Some of the young players down in Triple-A could bring a little renewed energy to a ballclub that desperately needs it right now.
The Yankees have only won two series in the second half.
A series loss to the Red Sox over the weekend only made things worse after they lost two series to the Seattle Mariners and were swept by the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Yankees are still in a good position, so it isn’t time to panic, but it might be time for them to try a little something new in order to get the team going in the right direction again.
