Comedienne and actress Wofai Fada has shared pictures of her civil wedding to Taiwo Cole.
On Instagram on Sunday evening, Wofai gave fans a glimpse of the civil ceremony which took place at Ikoyi registry in Lagos.
In her first post, she shared photos of herself in a white short gown holding a bouquet and standing beside Cole who wore a blue suit.
Her caption read, “Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. Legally hitched.”
The second post included a video of the couple at the Ikoyi marriage registry, capturing various intimate moments.
Wofai expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported their journey, writing, “Thank you guys for all the love and congratulatory messages.
“As you continue to share in our joy and happiness, may you always be congratulated. My online family, y’all are the best.”
The civil wedding followed their traditional ceremony in May with the couple dressed in Ugep culture, Cross River attire.
Wofai faced disapproval from her in-laws who publicly expressed their opposition to the marriage.
Cole’s family issued a statement distancing themselves from the union, claiming they were unaware of it.
Unconfirmed reports suggest Cole’s father objected to the marriage due to age difference between the couple.
The statement noted that all acquaintances, family and friends are not aware of any marriage between their son, Taiwo Olakitan Cole and Wofai Fada, and neither was any permission granted in this regard. They advised the public to disregard any publications and documents being circulated about the wedding.
