Willy Paul Goes Back To Church For The First Time In 7 Years

Willy Paul stopped going to church in 2017 and two years later in 2019 he quit gospel music and joined the secular world.

However, last Sunday Willy Paul went back to church for the first time in seven years since he stopped attending services.

In a statement, Willy Paul noted that he was optimistic the year 2024 was going to be good for him since he ran back to God like a prodigal son.

“I’ve Not Been To Church Since 2017, Because The Church Did Something Bad To Me. But Yesterday I Attended a Church Service In Embakassi And I Feel So Relieved 😌. It’s Going To Be Wonderful Year Coz I’ve Started Mine In Church !!” Willy Paul said.

Willy Paul quit gospel music in 2019, citing hypocrisy and that he lacked the physical, emotional and spiritual support to carry on in the industry.

In July 2021, Willy Paul explained in detail in a post on social media why he decided to quit the gospel music industry and opted to do secular songs.

He cited the reasons which include; hate from his fellow artists and deejays, lack of airplay because his content wasn’t Godly back then, discrimination and favoritism, and lastly heartbreak and depression to a point that he could not take it anymore so decided to be real.

“Some of you ask me why I left the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and even call me names because I no longer praise Jesus in my songs. According to them, I’m so evil and everything bad. Those are the same people that fought me nikiwa upande wa Yesu,” he said.
