In what has been one of the most exciting announcements we’ve had all year, Kizz Daniel and Davido have confirmed that they have a project together.
The as of yet untitled project is going to be an EP, and if it comes as soon as they have said it will, then it would be Davido’s first project since 2020 when he released “A Better Time.”
Needless to say, since that last album, Davido has had a rough time. Especially if you consider what his peers have done during that period. It is as of now true that Davido’s career leaves much to be desired.
Even his last single, “Stand Strong,” although a quite good track hasn’t been able to do anything for him as regards returning back to that 001 status. All the collaborations have not done much either. Then, maybe a linkup would Kizz Daniel would change things?
Well, for one, Kizz Daniel is very hot right now. His last project, “Barnabas” has been a major success in the country. And his last single, “Buga” is also one of the hottest tunes in Nigeria at the moment.
Also, every time the two guys have been on a song together, they’ve killed it. From the 2015 remix of “Woju” to 2018’s major hit, “One Ticket.” So anything they do together again is sure to be a banger.
The prospects of it being potentially up to five songs is what makes it most exciting because there’s no way they’re doing five mid tracks. There’s gotta be at least two bangers in there.
So I’m thinking, maybe that breakthrough Davido has been looking for for the past few months, he could surely get from a project with Kizz Daniel. I mean, we rise by lifting others, right?
