Nigeria has been eliminated from the AFCON going on in Cameroon as they fell into the wrong hand of Tunisia.
The Carthage Eagles were determined from the onset to stop Nigeria and it was all written in the way they went about their dealing in the game.
Following the Super Eagles exit on Sunday we evaluate the reason for the loss to the Tunisia side.
Missed Opportunities
The Tunisians cashed in from Nigeria’s weaknesses and inability to finish up their chances in front of goal.
It appears as the trio of Emmanuel Dennis, Odion Ighalo, and Victor Osimhen was greatly missed in the Nigerian attack.
With Samuel Chukwueze and co missing begging chances for Nigeria in the Tunisia match.
Tunisia Tactical Bravery
The North Africans weren’t bothered about who has more of the ball possession as it were in the match.
But they set themselves up nicely with a good defensive shift to annihilate Nigeria’s attack in the high-profile encounter.
While the North Africans plundered a hole in behind the Nigerian defense during their counterattacking operation.
Nigeria wasn’t Strategic
The Super Eagles kept on doing the same thing for the whole game without result.
They kept on feeding Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze on the wings with two defenders on them every time they received the ball.
And Nigeria’s deliveries (corner-kick) and gameplay were not precise either for much of the contest.
