A professor at Harvard would say, “I AM A GREAT LECTURER BECAUSE ALL MY STUDENTS PASSED AND GRADUATED.”
In civilised nations, the rate at which your students pass out and graduate is a testament to how great and efficient you are as a lecturer.
Any professor in a civilised nation can be proud of this.
In the meantime, a professor in Nigeria has the right to brag about how many of his students fail his class, leave the department, and are expelled from the university.
This is the right of this failure who is too stupid to realise that the fact that the majority of your students are failing and leaving the university speaks volumes about how bad of a lecturer you are.
From this point forward, I propose that all lecturers in Nigeria be paid N200,000 per month because that is what they deserve.
Until they can guarantee that every one of their students’ graduates and knows what to do after graduation, they don’t deserve anything more.
