“Why I left Nigeria” – Man shares his reasons for relocating abroad

A Nigerian man, Abisoye Falabi, has made headlines after sharing his reasons for relocating abroad, stating that it was due to a significant pay disparity he discovered at his workplace in Nigeria.

Falabi, who shared his story on Twitter, recounted how he became aware of the earnings gap when he was asked to interview and hire two foreign candidates for his company.

In a Twitter response to a question about when he realized he had to leave Nigeria, Abisoye Falabi candidly shared his eye-opening experience.

He tweeted;

“When I realized my earning potential was capped in Nigeria. A few years back, my employer then asked me to interview & hire two foreign-based potential hires to join my team. The least of the two asked for $250k base. It was approved. Remote. I wasn’t earning up to 0.5 of that.”
