Why I decided not to run for 2023 presidency – Yul Edochie finally opens up

Popular Nollywood actor and director, Yul Edochie has finally revealed why he decided not to continue with his presidential ambition.

Recall that prior to this moment, Yul Edochie created awareness on his various social media pages while revealing why he’s the best candidate for the presidential seat come 2023.

However, when aspirants began purchasing the presidential form, Yul Edochie didn’t do the same, rather he took to social media to ask netizens to contribute N100M to enable him to purchase the form. This period passed by and here we are, almost all political parties have concluded their primary elections and put forth their candidate but Yul Edochie is not even associated with any party yet.

In a recent development, the actor took to his official Twitter handle to reveal the actual reason for backing off from the race.

According to him, after several meetings and consultations with the leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA (which was the party he wanted to contest under) they arrived at a conclusion that the party doesn’t have the capacity to produce the next president so he didn’t move further with his plans.

He wrote:

“I wanted to run for President with APGA. After much consultations & meetings.

“We sat and did our evaluations. We put sentiments aside & embraced facts. Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat. So I didn’t move further.”
