Patience Ozokwo, a veteran Nollywood actress, has explained why some performers decide to beg when they are sick and helpless.
According to the actress, many actors make decent money while they are active and working, but their costly lifestyle, which the public expects of them, causes them to spend a lot of money in order to maintain their status as celebrities.
The actress, who received the AMVCA Merit Award in May, stated that many people feel actresses are wealthy because of the clothes they wear on the red carpet, thus they do not assist them.
When they become ill, they must shoulder the weight alone, and when they have nothing left, they must resort to begging on social media.
Her explanation came after actors were slammed for begging when they fell on hard times.
