Wayne Rooney’s Club Derby County To Be Handed Nine-Point Deduction

Derby County will be handed a 12-point deduction after a breakthrough in talks with the EFL, SportsMail reports.
The team coached by Wayne Rooney, will be handed the punishment this season, which would see them drop to the bottom of the Championship.

However, three points will be suspended until next season.

An “agreement in principle” has been reached between the club’s officials and the EFL over the tally to be taken away, following an 18-month row.

Derby County have been found guilty of breaching financial regulations.

Both club and league are expected to make an announcement later this week.

Initial agreement of the points tally is a considerable step towards a conclusion, but agreement for the club’s accounting is needed.
