Taking to social media, Raffy Tima, shared a video showing the moment Filipinos were looking at the water in the river while standing under the bridge.

Raffy Tima wrote: “People watch at the foot of Marikina Bridge as the level of the Marikina River slowly rise due to rains from Severe Tropical Storm Florita. 

Authorities have raised Alarm Level 1 after the river reached 15 meters. This means residents near the river should prepare.”

Joco Sotto reacted: “As of 6pm (23 Aug 2022), Marikina River water level is at 15.3m. Pasig City is raising its alert level to RED. 

The Incident Management Team is activated. response personnel are checking in.

SW Monsoon is expected to bring further light to moderate with occasional heavy rains.”
