VeryDarkMan Establishes Nonprofit Organization To Enhance Public Education, Asks Assistance

Nigerian activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has started a new NGO focused on improving the public education system in Nigeria by involving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

In a statement on social media, Otse shared his worries about the current education system, comparing it to how it used to be.

He noted that in the past, education was exciting, and students looked forward to classes because the government hired energetic young teachers.

He expressed sadness over the drop in education quality today, blaming it on the presence of older, less energetic teachers in classrooms.

Otse noted that this change has made learning boring, leading students to lose interest and become less involved.

The activist highlighted the need for mentorship, stating that young students often look for role models.

Without positive examples, they might be drawn to negative influences like cultism.

To tackle these issues, Otse shared that his NGO plans to send skilled NYSC members to public schools in Abuja.

They will work with students on activities that boost their intelligence and improve their academic experience. His main aim is to reform Nigeria’s public education system.

Otse confessed that he cannot handle this on his own.

He sought help from the public, noting that he doesn’t have sufficient funds to pay the NYSC members who will be teaching.
