University of Uyo causes a stir as Burna Boy’s catchphrase ‘YOU GO EXPLAIN TIRE’ appears in examination paper

Nigerian music sensation Burna Boy’s catchphrase, “No evidence, you go explain tire,” has made an unexpected appearance in an exam question at the University of Uyo in Akwa Ibom State.

The phrase, which has become widely recognized due to Burna Boy’s online interactions with his fans, found its way into question number five of a recent examination administered to 400-level students majoring in the Department of History and International Studies.

The question posed to the students was; “How does the current popular saying of Nigeria’s music sensation, Burna Boy, ‘no evidence, you go explain tire,’ reflect the nature of history?”

Burna Boy’s catchphrase, coined during one of his live sessions on Instagram, resonated with his audience as he expressed, “If you no make am for this life, no evidence, you go explain tire.”

The catchy expression quickly gained traction within social circles, and its influence has now extended into the realm of academia.
