On Saturday morning, September 14, following heavy downpour in Benin City, Edo State, a story building collapsed, trapping numerous University of Benin (UNIBEN) students.
The sad incident happened on Ekhator Street in Ekosodin, which is renowned for housing students.
Although some of the trapped residents were freed, several are still believed to be trapped.
The injured victims rescued from the rubble were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
A university rescue team is still looking for casualties after hearing a call for aid from under the rubble.
