“Trust nobody” – WizKid’s refusal to drink a shot offered to him at Lagos nightclub gets fans talking

The Afrobeats sensation, Wizkid, set the internet abuzz with a viral video capturing his nightclub antics during a night out in Lagos.

The Starboy maestro, who had been flying under the radar for months, abstaining from the nightclub scene and shying away from the public eye following the heartbreaking loss of his cherished mother.

However, just days after a grand farewell celebration for his mother, Big Wiz and his entourage dropped by the De Chandelier Night Club in Victoria Island, Lagos, to let their hair down and have a whale of a time.

In a widely circulated video clip, WizKid was seen tucked away in a corner of the club, swaying to the booming music. Suddenly, a shot was extended to him, and with a grin on his face, he promptly passed the drink to someone else, igniting a flurry of online reactions.

Fans who caught the moment he refused the shot couldn’t resist chiming in. Some speculated that after Mohbad’s tragic incident with tainted drinks, artists have become more cautious about what they consume. Others argued that WizKid’s act signified a deep-seated mistrust in others.

This incident follows a similar one involving Big Wiz’s peer, Davido, who also turned down a bottle of cold water offered by one of his crew members during Mohbad’s candlelight procession.

Davido, who had given an electrifying performance at the late singer’s tribute concert, was seen mopping his sweat when the crew member extended an unsealed bottle of water.

OBO, as he’s affectionately known, politely declined the offer, while the gentleman in question proceeded to quench his thirst.
