Actress Toyin Abraham’s latest movie Ijakumo has taken Netflix by storm, and the actress couldn’t be happier.
She described how Ijakumo was created six months ago and quickly rose to the top of the native Language drama charts in West Africa.
After months of hard work and anticipation, the blockbuster movie has broken records on the popular streaming platform.
Ijakumo, directed by Toyin Abraham, has been the only Nigerian movie to hold the top spot for more than two weeks.
Toyin is delighted that her film has held the top rank on the Netflix streaming app for the past two weeks in a row.
And, amidst all the excitement, Toyin is taking a moment to express her gratitude to God and to everyone.
She acknowledged God’s presence and how he rewards one’s hardwork.
Taking to her Instagram page, she wrote:
“Trust me.. whatever you want, manifest it! Speak it into existence and do the work! God listens and he rewards!

Today, it is the Number 1 movie in Nigeria on Netflix, for 2 weeks in a row – only Nigerian film to be Number one for two weeks (and counting!) in 2023. For a non-branded, licensed film, this is huge!

Recall that ‘Ijakumo’ was premiered at cinemas in December 2022, but was released via Netflix on Friday, June 23.
However bad review has trailed the movie since it’s release and Toyin who hasn’t said anything finally breaks silence.
Responding to the negative comments, Toyin Abraham claimed that many who were critical of the movie were those opposed to her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2022.
The actress questioned why her choice is a problem that is currently affecting her hardwork. She added that a group of people created a WhatsApp group particularly to badmouth her movie. She tweeted..
