A gaunt-looking Tom Brady hinted at marital troubles with Gisele Bündchen after he returned to training camp from an 11-day break.
“It’s all personal, you know. Everyone’s got different situations that they’re dealing with,” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star said after he stepped onto the field Saturday for the first time during preseason.
“We all have really unique challenges to our life. I’m 45 years old, man. There’s a lot of s–t going on, so just gotta figure out life the best you can. It’s a continuous process.”
Prior to the stunning revelation, theories around Brady’s absence from the team went so far as to include speculation that he was taping “The Masked Singer.”
Despite his time off, the quarterback assured everyone he was ready to get back on the field.
“I’m ready to go,” he said. “I feel good. I’ve played football for a long time. I’m pretty good at it. Doesn’t take long for me to remember how to play it.”
Page Six broke the news that Brady and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, were experiencing marital problems that have prompted her to try to heal in Costa Rica while the NFL player remains in Florida.
“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids,” a source told us. “They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”
Work on their Miami estate, which they purchased for $17 million at the end of 2021, has been paused.
Brady and Bündchen, 42, tied the knot in February 2009 and are parents to son Benjamin, 12, and daughter Vivian, 9. The former New England Patriots player is also father to son Jack, 15, with ex Bridget Moynahan.
While their marriage seemed picture-perfect from the outside, the Brazilian supermodel recently admitted it wasn’t a “fairy tale.”
“It’s never the fairy tale people want to believe it is,” she explained in May. “It takes work to be really in sync with someone, especially after you have kids.”
