A former Director-General of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign council, Doyin Okupe, has stated that the South West region will no longer remain passive while individuals insult President Bola Tinubu.
Okupe emphasized the need for unity and respect within the political discourse, suggesting that the region will actively defend the presidency against derogatory remarks.
According to him, Tinubu is the apple in the eyes of the people of the South West and must not be spoken about disdainfully.
He stated this while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.
“From now on, we are no longer going to keep quiet for people who think they can just insult Bola Tinubu,” he said.
“Tinubu from the South West is the apple of our eyes. He is not doing wrong. If things are not looking well(now) they’ll look well because we know him.”
Millions of Nigerians are currently in pain as a result of the policies of the Tinubu administration but Okupe feels there is no reason for anyone to complain.
