The Seattle Mariners are back.
After several years of not being in postseason contention and missing the playoffs every year since 2001, the Mariners look ready to end that drought.
Two series wins against the New York Yankees will attest to that.
The Mariners are currently 61-52 and hold the second Wild Card position in the American League.
They fell just short of the postseason last year, finishing 90-72, but after a bad start this year, they have turned it around and now look like a serious World Series contender.
And they’ve held their own against some of the best teams in all of baseball, going 10-10 in a 20-game stretch that featured 13 games against the Yankees and their division rival, the Houston Astros.

M’s Holding Their Own
What separates good and great teams is the ability to win series against some of the best teams in the league.
It was a rocky start to the 2022 season for Seattle after they had a very big offseason, where they acquired Adam Frazier, Eugenio Suarez, and Jesse Winker, and also signed Robbie Ray.
But since then, Seattle has kicked it into gear and are now playing great baseball at the right time.
We’re officially in the dog days of August and are right in the thick of the pennant race.
The Mariners have come along for the ride.
A 10-10 stretch is obviously not setting the world on fire, but when that stretch includes 13 games against the best two teams in the American League and you can win two series against one of them, that shows how dangerous your team could be.
Seattle is looking good as we move closer to the final month of the season.
