Team Nigeria set another Olympic Record in 2024 Long Jump event

Team Nigeria have now set another incredible record or milestone as it is fondly called in the long jump event at the 2024 Olympics.

After the completion of the long jump qualification event on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Olympics, Team Nigeria demonstrated outstanding performance with all three of their representatives successfully qualifying for the finals.

This remarkable achievement sets Team Nigeria apart and showcases the exceptional talent and skill of their athletes on the global stage.

This would be the first time Team Nigeria will have three out of the 12 finalists in the long jump event at the Olympic Games 2024.

One of the standout qualifiers is Tara Davis-Woodhall, who earned her place with an impressive jump of 7.00 meters at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials

The finalists for Team Nigeria are:

  • Ese Brume – 6.76m
  • Ruth Usoro – 6.68m
  • Prestina Ochonogor – 6.65m
