Take Zamfara Bandits’ Threatening Letter Seriously – Kaduna Cleric Urges Security Operatives

The General Overseer of Truth and Life Gospel Church, Trikania Kaduna, Dr Sunday Omolafe Jeremiah, on Thursday, in Kaduna, urged the police and other law enforcement agents to take urgent steps in protecting all churches and worship places in Zamfara and its environs
Omolafe, who is also a senior lecturer with Theological Bible College Kagoro Kaduna, made the passionate plea following the threatening letters from bandits to Christians in Zamfara to close all churches and Christian worship places
recalls that the Zamfara Police Command penultimate week, confirmed the threatening letter from bandits warning Christians to close down churches in Zamfara State.

CAN’s General Secretary, Barr Joseph Bade Daramola had warned against the threat, even as he warned politicians not to create enmity between Christians and Muslims.

He asked the security agencies in the country to leave no stone unturned in their protection of all churches in Zamfara State.

Reacting, Omolafe who was not comfortable with the threatening letter, said since everything is known to security agents, Christians in the State would not have much to fear.

He said Christians must be allowed to continue to enjoy their freedom to worship without hindrance or attack from the bandits.

He also warned some politicians who hide under the guise of bandits to bring division, hatred among Christians and Muslims in the country.

He assured Christians in Zamfara that the police would not allow bandits to do their bindings, adding that

“the good part of it is that, the threatening letter came through the police, whose duty is to protect lives and property.”
