Former coach, Sunday Oliseh in his latest interview has opened up on the players the NFF has told him not to invite to camp during his time with the Super Eagles.

Former head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Sunday Oliseh in an exclusive interview with renowned Nigerian journalist Matthew Edafe Elegbete on Elegbete TV, has opened up on his struggles during his time with the national team revealing players the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had instructed him not to invite to the camp during his tenure.

Sunday Oliseh revealed that the NFF had advised him not to invite top players, Mikel Obi, Vincent Enyema and Emmanuel Emenike to the camp because they had been having issues with them in the team.

He revealed that he had argued in favour of these players and had opted to meet with them and share his philosophy with them as well. He went on to add that only 2 of the players (Enyeama and Emenike) had responded to the call and his decision to meet with him but Mikel Obi had opted out of having such a meeting.

He argued that these are the challenges home-based coaches hired to manage the national team would face if they lack the personality to do the job.

He also added that he possessed the personality which many often categorized as stubbornness which was why he was successful as the head coach of the national side during his time.
