Stockbrokers to examine trends in the world market at annual conference

In order to determine how trends in the global financial market can benefit the expansion and development of the Nigerian financial market, the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers has announced that it will be analyzing these trends.

This was revealed in a statement issued by the body on Thursday as it prepares for its 27th Annual Conference scheduled to be held in Abeokuta, in collaboration with the Ogun State Government in November.

According to CIS, the conference will have the theme “Appraising New Trends in the Global Capital Market: Localizing the Benefits” and will concentrate on basic operational concerns such as product development, investment strategies, market regulation, and the way technological advancements have changed cross-border capital flows.

According to Mrs. Elile Olutimayin, the conference chairman, this year’s gathering will offer a special chance to analyze global capital market trends and pinpoint opportunities for the Nigerian financial sector to gain the most.

“This year, we decided to compare our market with its peers and take a deep dive into the factors that shape the global capital market,” she stated. We should also consider our Institute’s certification and the various ways in which it is pertinent, as well as how we can localize the benefits of the positive trends that are developing in the global capital market. We are equally concerned about how our members can use their certification in Nigeria’s incredibly diverse economy. “.

Additionally, Olutimayin emphasized that the institute will be considering strategies to draw in young talent.

We are interested in how to attract more young talents into our great profession as the Millennials, Gen Z are the key drivers of the world financial market in the future. These and other critical issues of market development shall drive conversations at our 2023 Conference,“says Olutimayin.

Oluwole Adeosun, President of the Institute, is anticipated to present the key areas in which the Federal Government can leverage the market to fund infrastructure projects during the conference.

Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State, is one of the prominent figures anticipated at the function. Chief executive officers of major companies in Nigeria and abroad, as well as senior government employees and market regulators, are among the other attendees anticipated.

In addition to the induction of Associates and investiture of the Institute’s new Fellows, the conference will conclude with a communiqué.
