Afrobeats artist Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, is setting new records with his latest album, Morayo. The album has been well-received by fans both in Nigeria and around the world.
Wizkid has achieved a milestone on Spotify, following his success on Apple Music earlier today.
Reports indicate that he is now the first African artist to appear on Spotify’s active sound cover, breaking records just 24 hours after Morayo’s release.
WizKid’s “Morayo” quickly reached the top spot on Spotify Nigeria’s weekly albums chart, achieving this in just one hour. The only other albums to do this are Rema’s “Rave & Roses,” Asake’s “Mr. Money With The Vibe,” and Burna Boy’s “Love, Damini.”
Spotify Africa responded to Morayo while talking to a Nigerian.
