Paul Adefarasin, senior pastor of House on the Rock Church on Friday led a night of tributes for the late gospel singer, Sammie Okposo at The Experience 2022.
Sammie died at the age of 51 on Friday, November 25. He used to be the choir director at House on the Rock Church in Lagos.
The Experience, Nigeria’s biggest gospel concert, returned to the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos Island for its 17th edition this year after two years of virtual and hybrid versions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the ministration, the crowd led by Adefarasin observed a moment of silence and paid tributes for Sammie.
Addressing the congregation, the cleric said:
“I’ll like you to stand on your feet for one minute as we observe a moment of silence for a legend in gospel music who passed away about a week ago. I speak of a man who graced this platform many times over the last 17 years who has entered the golden and pearly gates of glory. None other than minister Sammie Okposo now of blessed memory.
“Would you please join me in your thoughts and prayers. Consider his wife Ozioma and his daughter as we observe a moment of silence for Sammie Okposo.”
