Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad, passed on at 27.

Popular entertainment journalist Ovie on X, formerly Twitter, confirmed the rumours about the singer’s demise.

It was revealed that the 27-year-old Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Taking to his X page, (formerly Twitter) Olamide succinctly reveals his ongoing state of shock, struggling to accept the rapper’s untimely departure.

In a brief follow-up tweet, he marvels at the capricious and unpredictable nature of life, expressing awe and reflection.

He wrote;

After sighting Olamide’s tweet, those fans who had initially harbored doubts about the shocking news of the rapper’s passing ultimately surrendered to the heartbreaking truth that Mohbad had departed from this world.

Mohbad, before his death, was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s “Marlian Records”, which he left in 2022 amid different dramas.

The Rapper sparked reactions on social media after he shared a disturbing video, crying for help from the public as he claimed members of the label launched an attack on him.

Naira Marley, in his response, revealed Mohbad has a history of getting intoxicated which affects his emotions and actions. The Marlian label boss, however, added that he would resolve the matter amicably.
