Kanyari, who is the founder of Salvation Healing Ministry, opened up about how Wahu’s death affected his mother during an interview with a local news outlet.
The controversial preacher revealed that Wahu had sent a significant sum of money approximately Ksh500,000 to Matara which he demanded to spare his life but he still killed her.
Recounting the tragic events, Kanyari said that his sister attempted to reach out to him around 2 am on that fateful morning of January 3, 2024, desperately seeking help.
Unfortunately, he did not answer the call, unaware of the impending danger she was facing.
Kanyari added that the loss of Wahu has deeply affected their mother, more so by how she met her death.
“Our mum was affected the most. This was her lastborn child. How we are helping her cope is by making sure that there are people around her all the time. We, as her children, visit her every day and spend time with her,” Kanyari said.
Kanyari expressed his family’s determination to seek justice for their slain kin.
“We are very optimistic that we will finally get justice despite the big loss. We know we will not see our sister again, but we do not want another family to suffer in the same measures as us,” he asserted.
John Matara lured Starlet Wahu to an Airbnb in South B, Nairobi with the promise of paying her Ksh20,000 after a night of sex.
At the end, Matara violently robbed Wahu demanding Ksh500,000 ransom to spare her life but he still killed her after getting the money.
Matara also robbed other girls he tricked to sleep with him claiming he would pay them after the sex.
