Sevilla have reached a verbal agreement to sign Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke on a free transfer, as confirmed by football insider Fabrizio Romano.

“Sevilla agree deal to sign Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke as free agent, here we go!

“Verbal agreement in place with Sevilla on contract terms, medical and signature are booked for next week,” Romano reported.

Ejuke, who currently plays for Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League on loan from CSKA Moscow, is set to join Sevilla following the completion of his medical.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international has had a fast-paced career, including stints in Norway, the Netherlands, Russia, and Germany.

Ejuke made his debut for the Nigeria national team in October 2020 in a friendly match against Tunisia.

He began his European journey with Norway’s Vålerenga in 2017 before moving to SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands in 2019, despite interest from Besiktas and Lazio.

In August 2020, Ejuke signed a four-year contract with CSKA Moscow and quickly made an impact, notably scoring in a 3-1 derby victory over Spartak Moscow.

However, due to the FIFA ruling regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he suspended his contract with CSKA for the 2022/23 season and joined Hertha BSC in Germany.

Ejuke continued his career at Royal Antwerp in July 2023, taking advantage of another FIFA exemption for players in Russia.

Now, all is set for him to bring his talent to La Liga giants Sevilla.
