Music star, David Adeleke aka Davido has penned down a message which seems like a farewell as well as an appreciation to his fans for their support following his performance at the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Davido on Sunday thrilled fans with his performance at the end of the tournament, making history as the first Nigerian artiste to perform at the World Cup.
The 30-year-old themed up Aisha and Trinidad Cardona to perform the World Cup theme song ‘Hayya Hayya’ at the finals.The performance was Davido’s first since the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke who drowned days after celebrating his 3rd birthday.
The ‘Stand Strong’ singer was initially set to perform at the opening ceremony but could not make it due to the death of his son.
After his performance on Sunday, Davido shared photos from the event via Twitter on Monday, with a goodwill message for the festive season. He wrote:
“Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Thank you all. I love you.”
Davido added:
“See y’all in March.”
Another video of Davido saying “tell the world I’m back” was also uploaded on social media moments before his World Cup performance.
The musician also annouced his grand return to social media with photos of himself and his partner Chioma Rowland uploaded on all his social media accounts.
In the viral video, the couple is seen kissing each other.
The duo made their first public appearance during the latter’s uncle, Ademola Adeleke’s inauguration as governor of Osun state on Sunday, November 27.
A happy Davido was also caught smiling to the camera.
Asides from the public excitement of the couple making their first appearance in public after the demise of their son, one of the things that didn’t go unnoticed is that they were both spotted with wedding rings. Chioma was seen wearing double diamond rings while the singer also had a ring on his finger.
