Liverpool made their way back to the Premier League top spot in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Brighton at Anfield on Sunday.
The match got off to a dramatic start as Brighton stunned the home crowd by taking the lead just three minutes into the game.
The opener came from Manchester United former star Danny Welbeck.
However, Liverpool quickly regained composure and launched a spirited comeback.
Luis Diaz restored parity for the Reds in the 27th minute, cleverly poking the ball past Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen from close range.
The second half saw both teams battling fiercely for control, but it was Liverpool who prevailed.
The Reds’ talisman Mohamed Salah stepped up when it mattered most, finding the back of the net to complete the comeback.
With the win, Liverpool keep their title bid on track, and will hold the top spot until the outcome of Manchester City’s game with Arsenal is ascertained.
